What this site is
White Card Practice Test AU is a free study resource for people preparing for the Australian construction induction — the qualification most people call the "White Card" (unit code CPCWHS1001, formerly CPCCWHS1001). We offer a bank of 552 practice questions, state-by-state guides, a study guide, exam tips, a safety-signs trainer, and an interactive "Spot the Hazard" game, all at no cost.
Our goal is simple: help you walk into your real assessment feeling prepared and confident, and help you understand the basics of staying safe on a construction site.
Why we built it
Starting work on a building site can be daunting, and the White Card is usually the very first step. We found that most practice material was either locked behind a paywall, out of date, or didn't reflect the way the real assessment is worded. We built this site to give first-time workers, apprentices, and career-changers a clear, accurate, and genuinely free way to study.
How our content is made
Our practice questions and guides are based on publicly available information, the model Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act and Regulations, and relevant Australian Standards (such as AS 1319 for safety signs). We review our material against current sources and update it when rules change. The practice questions are written to resemble the style and topics of the real assessment — they are study aids, not copies of any official exam.
An important note on independence
We are an independent educational website. We are not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and we are not affiliated with SafeWork, WorkSafe, or any Australian government agency. Completing our practice tests does not issue a White Card. To get a real White Card you must complete training with an accredited RTO. Our Find a Course page points you to the official register so you can choose a provider.
